Wiid /wēēd/ n.
the denial of “the wild plants growing where it is not wanted and in competition with cultivated plants” definition for “weed”
Imagined and realized as a scented poem, the studio's first olfactory offering has all-natural, steam-distilled cannabis at the forefront and patchouli deep inside its heart, Wiid is inspired by the double etymological meanings of the noun "Weed". Sightly bitter, woody, smokey, leathery.
Ethically made in New York in small batches

Backstory
Introducing Wiid, the very first fragrance offering from Studio Wenjüe Lu, a synesthetic metaphor bottling in wind adrift and leaves afloat; An olfactory poetry piece, one that posits itself at the nebulous liminal between the cultivated and the wild, the tethered and the unyielding, the astounded and the unbothered, the feigning and the living, and lastly, the artificial and the natural.
With all-natural, steam-distilled cannabis at the forefront and patchouli deep inside its heart, Wiid is inspired by the double etymological meanings of the noun "Weed", not just as the slang for the infamous smokable psycho-active cannabis plant signifying the quite literal usage of the plant itself into the aroma profile; but also "the wild plants growing where it is not wanted and in competition with cultivated plants”, symbolizing a return to nature, going against the inorganic-city and arbitrariness of the sharp distinction between the "cultivated" and the "wild".
The Taoist concept of "Unity between heaven and humanity" (天人合一) lies at the center of the Wenjüe Lu world, with and within which comes forth our core messages of off-centering the human ego and slowing down life itself in order to reiterate and re-contextualize our innate capability to visualize inter-connectivity. Leaving behind one's all-devouring, overstimulated sense of selfhood; only the raw, visceral connection to the earth and sky.
Wiid transcends the identity of just a smell for the studio, as each sensory experience cannot exist alone independent of the others: fragrances are just semi-volatile organic molecules after all, designed to slowly evaporate into the air so we can sense them as aromas, mediated through the wildly moving air known as wind.
